Sharing Protocols Analyst+
Sharing protocols define how you share audience data with partners. You control which segments, which fields, and which matching method — per partner.
Creating a Protocol
- Go to Audience Connect > Sharing.
- Click New Protocol.
- Configure:
- Partner name — Who you’re sharing with
- Partner email — Contact for notifications
- Segments — Select one or more segments to include
- Data fields — Choose what to share (hashed_id, geo, tier, device_type)
- Match type — How data is exchanged
Match Types
| Type | How It Works |
|---|---|
| Hashed Export | CSV export with only the fields you specify. IDs are always hashed. |
| Clean Room | Partner submits their IDs; only overlap counts are returned. No raw data exchanged. |
| Direct | Full segment export to a trusted integration partner. |
Managing Protocols
Each protocol tracks its match history — when data was shared, how many records, and match rates.
You can:
- Pause a protocol to temporarily stop sharing
- Delete a protocol to remove it entirely
- Edit to change segments or fields at any time
Exporting Data
For hashed export protocols, click Export to download a CSV containing only the fields defined in the protocol. No additional data is included.
Protocols are auditable. Every share event is logged with timestamp, record count, and the fields included.
